Renovation of Al-Mukalla Police Station Initiative – Community Safety Committee in Al-Mukalla

The Community Safety Committee in Al-Mukalla is currently implementing its first initiative at Al-Mukalla Police station. The initiative offered some basic renovation at the station to facilitate citizens‘ access to the station and provide a proper environment inside the complaint and reporting rooms, specifically rooms assigned for women. The committee is also working on developing their second initiative which is based on the priorities identified during a needs assessment conduct earlier this year to detect safety concerns and needs of the community served by the Al-Mukalla Police Station.

It is worth noting that the implementation of these initiatives comes with a generous support from the European Union and the Kingdom of the Netherlands under the Strengthening Community Safety in Yemen project, which is being implemented in its first phase in five Yemeni cities.
