Distribution of firefighting Kits in Sirah District as part of the Community Safety Committee Initiative in Aden

13 December 2021 News and Activities Berghof Foundation and the Political Development Forum

The community safety committee in Aden officially launched their first initiative in Sirah district. The initiative aims to encourage cooperation between civil society and the Crater Police towards enhancing community safety.  As part of the initiative, firefighting kits were provided to 14 different sites over the district, with the presence of the Director of Sirah district  Dr. Mahmoud Al-Jaradi, and the Secretary-General of the Local Council of the district, Mr.Awad Mubjar, and the Head of the Transitional Council in Sirah Mr.Muhammad Hussein Jarallah, and the head and members of the community safety committee in Aden.

Activities of this initiative were developed to mitigate fire risks at Sirah district, where domestic fires usually break out in the district for a couple of reasons including  the lack of basic capabilities of firefighters. This initiative is co-financed by the European Union and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, under the community safety project, which is implemented by the Political Development Forum and the Berghof Foundation.
