As part of the capacity building and advocacy efforts, 31 training sessions for Police and Community members were implemented in Sana’a, Dhamar, Aden, Al-Mukalla, and Taiz. In addition, advocacy efforts targeting mid-level officials of the relevant institutions to enhance the sustainability of the training process were successfully implemented through 10 local workshops. These workshops focused on raising awareness, introducing community safety concepts, and advocating for the work of the CSCs and their planned activities among a wider range of personnel and representatives in the police, judiciary, and public prosecution. These workshops broadened the support, facilitated the establishment, and ensured the future functionality of the CSCs. While the first round of local advocacy workshops targeted mid-to high-level representatives from the concerned authorities and institutions to discuss the role and tasks of the CSCs and ensure the needed backing, the second round targeted the local low- to mid-level representatives focusing on the nominations and internal mechanisms of the CSCs.
